Many thanks to those who attended, and those who donated to, An Apple Affair, our event last week that was held to raise money for iPads at Leopold. We made just over $3,500 that we will use to purchase additional iPads for our school.
We need volunteers!
We are in need of volunteers for many events at Leopold. Without the participation of our families, we cannot offer the great events we all enjoy. Please sign up online for the following events:

Picture retake day, November 8, 10am-1pm (one more volunteer needed):
Vision Screening October 17 and 19, times vary:
Leopold Harvest Fest is THIS SATURDAY! This is a fun event for Leopold families that will include many fall-themed activities. Come check out gunny sack races, face painting, cake walk, dunk tank, pumpkin launch, craft and music demonstrations, great food, live music and much more! See above to sign up for a volunteer shift. We ask that all Leopold families to take at least one volunteer shift - this is an event of many, not just a few! Feel free to bring grandparents or older siblings to help volunteer or hang out with your Leopold student. If we don't have enough volunteers, we won't be able to offer all of our fun activities.
A wrist band will be required for anyone over 3 years old and older to attend Harvest Fest, including parents. Wrist bands are $5 and will allow you to participate in all Harvest Fest activities. Food and prize drawing tickets will be available for additional purchase. Food and prize drawing tickets are $1 each at the door or 6/$5 if ordered ahead of time. Order forms can be found here and are due October 15:
Prize Drawing Donations are due on Monday, October 14. These items are put into great baskets that will be available for prize drawings by event attendees. Please send an item to contribute to the basket or a small cash donation ($1-$5) to school with your child tomorrow. The themes for this year's baskets are:
PreK / K = OUTDOOR FUN
G1 = MOVIE & GAME NIGHT
G2 = FUN AND GAMES
G3 = ARTS & CRAFTS
G4 = WISCONSIN
G5 = CUPCAKES
Baked Good are needed for our cake walk.The cake walk is one of our most popular activities! Fall-themed baked-goods preferred. Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, individual treats all are great. Please wrap items in disposable containers (by the half dozen for small items) and drop off at the cakewalk in the cafeteria at the start of Harvest Fest or in the office on Friday.
Thanks in advance to everyone who helps with one or more of the Harvest Fest areas. It take the efforts of our entire Leopold village for this great event!
Box Top Due Date Correction
My previous email said BoxTop collection sheets were not due until November. That was incorrect! Box Top collection sheets are due Tuesday, October 15! The class that collects the most BoxTops will win a pizza party! BoxTops do NOT need to be on the collection sheet. It is helpful if they are sorted into groups of 25, but it is not necessary, we will take them any way! If you need a new BoxTop collection sheet, you can print one here:
Thursday is Leopold Night at Roman Candle
This Thursday evening, October 17, from 4 pm - close is Leopold Night at Roman Candle Pizza. Roman Candle will donate 10% of all proceeds from Leopold purchases to the Leopold PFO. Flyers were sent home last week. Please bring the flyer along with you to get credit for Leopold. If you need a flyer, it can be downloaded at our blog later today.
4th Grade Get to Know Each Other Night
This week we are holding our fourth grade Get to Know Each other Night. This will be held in Tuesday evening from 6-7 in the Leopold Cafeteria. Even if you know lots of other families by fourth grade, come to catch up or find out who is in your students class. If you have not already, please RSVP by responding to this email with the number attending, or send in your form. The PFO provides dinner for this event so why not stop by and have dinner taken care of for you?
Our final Get to Know Each Other Night for fifth grade will be next Tuesday, October 22 from 6-7 in the cafeteria.
Regular, monthly PFO meetings will start in November. Please join us on Tuesday, November 19, from 7-8 pm in the cafeteria to talk about Common Core Standards, iPads in our school, and Leopold's School Improvement Plan (SIP).
Thanks everyone. Have a great (busy!) week!
