Hello Leopold Families. As always, there's a lot going on in our Leopold community right now!
Get to Know Each Other Nights
Many thanks to the kindergarten families who came to our Get to Know Each Other Night last week. Many of us enjoyed connecting with the others in our child's class as well as other Leopold kindergarten families. Remember, the First Grade Get to Know Each Other Night is tomorrow, September 17 from 6-7. If you have not already RSVPd by email or form, please just send a quick email back to me with the number attending. It helps us make sure we have enough food available for everyone. Future Get to Know Each Other dates:
September 24 - Second Grade
October 1 - Third Grade
*October 8 - all school open house*
October 15 - Fourth Grade
October 22 - Fifth Grade
Leopold Night at Dairy Queen
Tuesday, September 17, is our first monthly fundraising night out! Stop by Dairy Queen for dinner and/or a treat between 4 and 10 pm. Dairy Queen will donate 20% of all proceeds during that time to Leopold, so tell your neighbors to stop by too! For our first grade families, this will make a perfect dessert stop on the way home from Get to Know Each Other night. Flyers were sent home last week, so bring those along with you when you stop by. If you need one, the flyer will be posted on our blog today. http://www.leopoldpfo.org/leopold-pfo-blog.html
An Apple Affair at Lilliana's Restaurant
The Leopold PFO is excited to partner with Lilliana's restaurant for a fundraiser to continue our efforts to bring iPad technology to our classrooms. On Monday, October 7, from 6-8 pm, we will be hosting an adults-only event featuring an apple-themed menu and drinks as well as an extensive selection of gift baskets for raffle. This event is open to the community. Invitations will be sent home soon and a website is being set up for ticket purchase. We are looking forward to the opportunity to socialize, while raising important funds for our school.
Leopold's annual fall event, Harvest Fest (formerly called FunFest) will take place on Saturday, October 19, from 1-4 pm. This is a fun event to get out and see other families and enjoy a fun school carnival. We will have a cake walk, face painting, gunny sack races, pumpkin games, a dunk tank, local police and fire visitors, prize drawings, demonstrations, and great food. Watch for flyers to order to order wristbands, donate baked goods for the cake walk, and donate to a grade-level prize basket. We will also have a volunteer sign up coming out soon.
Box Top collection forms were sent home this year at registration so you could get an early start on collection! If you did not get a Box Top collection sheet, please visit our blog here http://www.leopoldpfo.org/leopold-pfo-blog.html where one will be posted sometime today. The first submission deadline is November 15. The class that collects the most Box Tops (prorated for class size) will receive a pizza party! The class that collects the most Box Tops throughout the year will receive a class party at Pump It Up. So, get cutting and turn those Box Tops in to your students teacher by November 15.
Leopold gets 10cents for every Box Top collected, so be sure to ask friends and family to save them too! You can also shop through the eBox Tops marketplace to earn additional Box Tops for our school. https://www.boxtops4education.com/marketplace
