The Leopold Elementary Parent Faculty Organization (PFO) exists to support families, students and staff at Leopold. Our motto is: Encouraging Kids. Connecting Families. Serving Leopold. We welcome all families to volunteer, offer ideas and input, and work to make our school the best it can be. You can contact us using the emails below, or using the form provided. We appreciate your input!
What does the PFO do?
Answer: A little bit of everything! While we are constantly trying to meet the always changing needs of the school, here are the main areas we focus on at present. If any of these sound like something you'd like to help with, let us know at [email protected]!
Community Events
There are several community events throughout the school year, both hosted by the school and the PFO. The PFO is completely in charge of all aspects for PFO hosted (Tito Fest, STEM Night), and we help out where we can for ones hosted by the school (volunteers, run a station, etc.). To see more about the types of community events Leopold has, visit our Events page.
PFO Hosted Events usually need the following "lift":
- Planning Committee
- Sponsors/Donations
- Most of our events come with an ask for sponsors/donations, as that's how we pay for them! This group will be asking the community for their help with sponsoring the event.,
- Event planning
- What will the event contain? This team gets to decide that as they figure out all the logistics of the event.
- Volunteers
- Can't have an event without some amazing volunteers to run it! This is the team that gets those volunteers signed up and ready to go!
- Sponsors/Donations
Staff Appreciation
We can't let Leopold faculty continue to do the amazing job they do without letting them know how much the Leopold community appreciates them! The PFO does Staff Appreciation throughout the school year, culminating in Staff Appreciation Week in May.
- Treats in faculty mailboxes
- Parent Teacher conference meals for faculty
- Welcome back snacks/meals
- Staff Appreciation Week (whole week of snacks/treats/meals)
- Team building for Leopold Staff (board game night, karaoke night, etc.)
Fundraising
The PFO fully runs on fundraising efforts, so of course that means we need people to implement those efforts! Fundraisers for the current school year typically create our budget for the next, so the more we can bring in the more we can do for Leopold the next school year! To see more about our current fundraising efforts, please visit our Fundraising page. PFO members find and implement the next restaurant night, find corporate/family sponsors to help us out, help run bake sales, and more! Even if you don't necessarily want to run a fundraising effort but know of someone wanting to help the school, let us know and we can take it from there! Another option anyone can do to help is run a Facebook Fundraiser on your own page, as the PFO is a listed charity you can fundraise for, so keep us in mind if you are looking for a charity for your next birthday, etc.!
Volunteering
Leopold PFO can't exist without volunteers, as that's all we're made of! Any and all help is appreciated with anything listed above or below. Not only do we need volunteers to manage all aspects of the PFO, but we are also one of the main sources for volunteers when the school needs them for any of their initiatives as well.
If you don't want to come to PFO meetings but want to be informed about volunteering opportunities please join our mailing list, as that's how we get the word out! We need all the help with can get, both big and small, so please consider lending a hand - the more hands we have, the more we can do for the Leopold Community.
