Staff Appreciation
​Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to make the Leopold Staff Appreciation Week a success! The events were well received and the staff could feel the love and gratitude from our families. Our Parent Faculty Organization cannot do so many wonderful things for our students and staff without many parents offering their time, talents, and creativity to the organization. 

Our next staff appreciation event is the Spring Luncheon on Tues May 8. Liliana's will be preparing sandwiches for the staff and we are asking Leopold families to contribute to the meal by bringing in a side dish, dessert or drink or by volunteering to setup, serve or cleanup. Please look for a flyer in your child's backpack around April 26th. Fill out and return the form to school or email Katie Wagner with your contribution: [email protected] by May 4. Thank you!

Semana de Apreciación del Personal
​¡Gracias a todos los voluntarios que ayudaron a hacer que la Semana de Apreciación del Personal de Leopold fuera un éxito! Los eventos fueron bien recibidos y el personal pudo sentir el amor y la gratitud de nuestras familias. Nuestra Organización de Padres y Profesores no puede hacer tantas cosas maravillosas para nuestros estudiantes y personal sin que muchos padres ofrezcan su tiempo, talento y creatividad a la organización.

Nuestro próximo evento de apreciación del personal es el almuerzo de primavera el martes, 8 de mayo . Liliana's estará preparando sándwiches para el personal y les estamos pidiendo a las familias de Leopold que contribuyan a la comida trayendo un plato de acompañamiento, postre o bebida o ofreciéndose como voluntarios para preparar, servir o limpiar. Por favor, busque un volante en la mochila de su hijo alrededor del 26 de abril. PFO General Meeting
5:15 pm: Free dinner in the cafeteria
6:00 pm: General meeting in the library. Election for new board members for next year. Guest Speaker: Dawn Crim. Ms. Crim is a former Leopold parent and currently works for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) as Assistant State Superintendent. She will be able to answer questions about resources available for K-12 students, particularly Leopold families; and community building and tapping into parent resources to help our students succeed.

The meeting will be held in English with Spanish translation. Free child care will be provided.

5:15 pm: Cena comunitaria en la cafetería
6:00 pm: Reunión general de PFO en la biblioteca. Elección para nuevos miembros de la junta para el próximo año. Conferencista invitado : Dawn Crim. La Sra. Crim es una ex madre de Leopold y actualmente trabaja para el Departamento de Instrucción Pública de Wisconsin (DPI) como Asistente del Superintendente Estatal. Ella podrá responder a preguntas sobre los recursos disponibles para los estudiantes de K-12, particularmente las familias de Leopold; y la creación de comunidad y el aprovechamiento de los recursos de los padres para ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a tener éxito.

La reunión se hablará en inglés con traducción al español. Se proporcionará cuidado de niños gratis.

Get involved with the PFO!
The PFO will have two board positions open next year: vice president and secretary. Board members serve a two year term.

* PFO Vice President: The vice president of the PFO Board attends monthly PFO Family and Board meetings, oversees committees, and makes sure our calendar of events is available for all. 
* PFO Secretary: The secretary records and posts minutes from monthly PFO Family meetings, attends Board meetings and events and maintains PFO correspondence, such as Thank You notes.
* The PFO is looking for one or more volunteers who would be willing to serve as a “Staff Lounge Attendant” who can stop in once a week to just keep things updated & restocked with supplies (e.g. Keurig pods, etc). Please Lee Hayes or Rosario Ramirez email if you are interested in helping. ([email protected] or [email protected]).

If you are interested in hearing more about either of these positions, or want to get more involved with the PFO but aren’t sure where to start, please contact us at [email protected].

El PFO tendrá dos puestos en la junta que se abrirán el próximo año: vicepresidente y secretario. Los miembros de la junta sirven un término de dos años.

Restaurant Night

Support our school and our community by visiting local restaurants on designated nights throughout the year when a portion of proceeds go back to Leopold. 
The next Restaurant Night fundraiser will be on Tuesday, May 15 at Chocolate Shoppe in Fitchburg from 4 to 9 pm.

Lion King, May 15
Get ready to be entertained! Leopold’s very own 4th and 5th graders are performing in "The Lion King Kids!" On Tuesday May 15th at 6:30 pm, at the Leopold elementary School Cafeteria. Come help the students and staff celebrate all the hard work they have put into this fantastic production.

Timber Wolf Trample Fun Run: Saturday, May 12
The Timber Wolf Trample is the PFO’s largest fundraising event of the year. This fun event includes a one mile run/walk for grades pre-K through 6th+. There is a school picnic following the event. Visit the website for more information.

Treasurer’s Corner
The PFO has provided the Leopold safety patrol students $800 to sponsor 2 students to attend the Safety Patrol Trip to Washington, DC. Another $162 was spent on improvements to the Staff Lounge (with a shout out to Kris Aman and Emily Royalty for their hard work in making this happen). $1700 was spent on a new sound system for the Leopold Cafeteria. $130 was spent on an upholstery cleaner to clean the fabric chairs inside and outside the office. For our April PFO meeting, $250 was spent for translation services, $103 for food and $45 for childcare. $70 was spent on printing costs. $245 was generated from our last Restaurant Night at MOOYAH in Fitchburg. Thank you to everyone who participated in making this a huge success. $35 was generated from our Amazon Associates Link from our www.leopoldpfo.org website. Thank you for your support.
