PFO Board Update
Lee Hayes, previous PFO treasurer, and Rosario Ramirez will now be serving as Co-Presidents of the PFO board. There are multiple open positions on the board in the roles of Member-at-Large and Secretary or Treasurer. If you are interested in learning more about serving on the PFO Board please contact the PFO at [email protected].

Volunteer Opportunities
Everyone has an opportunity to participate in ways large and small. Volunteer for a one-time event or consider an on-going position. There are many ways to help with PFO that are flexible and utilize the time and talents you have. Participating with the PFO is a great way to get involved and make a difference at Leopold. Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

Community Dinner Coordinator
The PFO is looking for people willing to coordinate the community dinners prior to the PFO General Meeting. This might involve working with Adopt-a-School partners, ordering food, set up and clean up.

Room Parent:
This is a great way to meet other families in your child's classroom and connect with the school at large.  Being a room parent does not require any in class time or monthly meetings, but does involve staying connected with the classroom teacher and the PFO Room Parent Coordinator.  Look for more information soon and contact Kari Trapskin for more information.

Podemos hacer esto de muchas maneras. Todos tienen la oportunidad de participar en mayor o menor medida. Pueden ser voluntarios para un evento una sola vez o considerar una posición en curso. Coordinador de Cena Comunitaria
El PFO busca personas dispuestas a coordinar las cenas comunitarias antes de la Reunión General del PFO. Esto podría implicar trabajar con Adopt-a-School partners, pedir comida, poner la comida y limpiar.

Padre de Salon: 
Esta es una gran manera de conocer a otras familias de clase de su hijo y conectarse con la escuela en general. Al ser un padre de salón no requiere ningún tiempo en clase o reuniones mensuales. ​PFO General Meeting: November 14 at 6 pm
Thank you to everyone who came to our fist PFO General Meeting. We had a great turnout and an informative presentation about the new Bridges math curriculum. Take a look at the Bridges website for more information: https://www.mathlearningcenter.org/bridges. There is a section for families with resources for home. Leopold is using the second edition. Meeting minutes will be posted on the PFO website once translated.
The next PFO General Meeting is on November 14 in the school library. Sami Clausen-Ruppert will be presenting an update on the Community School activities. There will be free dinner starting at 5:15pm, free child care and Spanish translation.

Please note the date of the December PFO General Meeting has changed to December 5th.

Muchas gracias a todos los que vinieron a nuestra primera reunión del PFO. Tuvimos una gran asistencia y una presentación informativa sobre el nuevo plan de estudios de matemáticas de Bridges.
