Fall Fiesta
THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered and participated in our Fall Fiesta.  We had great weather and so many families and staff who made this event a success.  Special thanks to our Fall Fiesta committee members Angie Oler, Amy Jimieson, and Sara Pirnstill. Please mark your calendar's for next year's Fall Fiesta on Sept 23, 2017.

Fiesta de Otoño
GRACIAS a todos los voluntarios que participaron en nuestra Fiesta de Otoño. Tuvimos un gran tiempo y tantas familias y el personal que hizo que este evento fuera un éxito. Un agradecimiento especial a nuestros miembros del comité de Otoño Fiesta Angie Oler, Amy Jimieson, y Sara Pirnstill. Remember that involvement in your student's school is welcome at any level, large or small and directly affects their experience in school. We would love to help you find the spot that works with your skills and time. Here are a just a few ways you can get involved this year:

Room Parent:  This is a great way to meet other families in your child's classroom and connect with the school at large.  Being a room parent does not require any in class time or monthly meetings, but does involve staying connected with the classroom teacher and the PFO Room Parent Coordinator.  Contact Kari Trapskin for more information.

Staff Appreciation:  Our staff appreciation coordinator organizes our two staff appreciation lunches during the year and stays on top of ways to connect with and recognize Leopold staff for their hard work with our kids.  This is a role that can be transitioned from our current coordinator throughout this year to assume responsibility for next year.

Oportunidades para Voluntarios
Recuerda que la participación en la escuela de su estudiante es bienvenido en cualquier nivel, grandes o pequeños, y afecta directamente a su experiencia en la escuela. Nos encantaría ayudarle a encontrar el lugar que funciona con sus habilidades y el tiempo. 
Éstos son sólo algunas maneras que usted puede participar este año:

Padre de Salon: Esta es una gran manera de conocer a otras familias de clase de su hijo y conectarse con la escuela en general. Al ser un padre de salón no requiere ningún tiempo en clase o reuniones mensuales. Esta consiste en estar conectado con el maestro y el Coordinador de Padres del PFO. Póngase en contacto con Kari Trapskin para más información.

Apreciación de Personal: Nuestro coordinador de apreciación personal organiza nuestras comidas de agradecimiento de dos miembros del personal durante el año y se organiza sobre maneras de conectar con y reconocer personal de Leopold por su arduo trabajo con los niños. Esto es un papel que puede ser la transición de nuestro coordinador actual a lo largo de este año para asumir la responsabilidad para el próximo año.

PFO General Meeting
Thank you to everyone who participated at our first PFO General meeting on Oct 11. We had a great discussion led by Principal Sloan, Neighborhood Officer Scott Beckfield, and MMSD Security Services Coordinator, Luis Yudice. The next evening PFO Meeting will be November 8th in the Leopold Library.  

Please remember that Coffee with the PFO has begun again for the year.  This is a casual alternative to our evening meetings for those who can meeting in the morning. All are welcome.  Our first meeting was Monday, Oct 17.  Next meeting is Monday, November 14 in the Family Resource Center (Rooms 303-305) from 7:30-8:30am.

Reunión General de PFO
Gracias a todos los que participaron en nuestra primera reunión General de PFO el 11 de Oct. Tuvimos una gran discusión dirigida por director Sloan, barrio oficial Scott Beckfield y Coordinador de servicios de seguridad MMSD, Luis Yudice. La próxima Reunión de PFO será el 8 de noviembre en la Biblioteca de Leopold. 

 Por favor, recuerde que el "Café con el PFO" ha comenzado de nuevo para el año. Esta es una alternativa informal a nuestras reuniones de la tarde para aquellos que pueden satisfacer más fácilmente en la mañana. Todos son bienvenidos. Nuestro primer encuentro era lunes, Oct 17. La próxima reunión será el lunes 14 de noviembre en el Centro de Recursos para la Familia (habitaciones 303-305) del 7:30-8:30am.

The next restaurant night will be November 16th at Dairy Queen in Fitchburg.

​Multicultural Night
December 6th, Leopold PFO will be hosting a Multicultural night to celebrate the many different cultures and countries represented by our families.  This event will have food, games, demonstrations and crafts.  If you are interested in being part of planning this wonderful event, please contact our committee chair, Wendy Velasco.
