Update from the Leopold PFO for the Week of February 9, 2015

Hello Leopold Families! Even in the middle of winter, we are thinking spring events and activities. Tomorrow marks the 100th day of school, so if you have been thinking about getting involved with our Parent-Faculty Organization, this would be a great time. PFO Family Meeting
Please join us tomorrow night (Tuesday, February 10) at 7 pm in the Leopold library for our PFO Family meeting. We'll take about PFO events, activities and opportunities to get involved, learn about Leopold's Instructional Resource Teachers (IRTs) and how they help support your students, and get an update from Principal Sloan. Parents, caregivers and staff are all welcome!

PFO Family Engagement Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the Library. Please join us to learn more about your child's educational experience at Leopold and to find ways to get involved. We welcome your input! Future topics include:

March 10 Superintendent's Parent Advisory Committee Report
April 14 STEM/REACH
May 12 Inclusion Diversity and Equity



Black History Celebration
February 24th is the annual Black History Celebration at Leopold from 6-7:30 pm, en lieu of OSH. 

Guest speaker, Richard Jones, Sr. (former Pastor of Mount Zion Church in Madison and current Public Defender in Janesville)
Guest performances by Richard Jones, Jr. and Sonia Valle
Student essays regarding African American Firsts
Student Achievement Awards
Refreshments
All are welcome!


10th Annual Timber Wolf Trample
We are gearing up for our 10th annual Timber Wolf Trample Fun Run! We are excited to celebrate 10 years of fun, fitness and fundraising at Leopold! The event will be held on Saturday, May 9. The one-mile run/walk for all ages will be followed by an all-school picnic. Leading up to the Trample, we will have a Spirit Week with a daily trophy for the winning class. Get ready for some fun!

If you are interested in helping to plan the Trample, please let us know. Parents and staff are all invited to help. We are starting soon. We'll invite everyone to volunteer on the day of the event as well.
