Update from the Leopold PFO for the Week of November 18, 2015

Hello Leopold Families!
Things are happening at Leopold. Get caught up now before our vacation time next week!

Translation Needed

Are you fluent in Spanish and English?  The PFO has a need for more translators.  We would like to find a group of parents who can share this responsibility.  All PFO materials need to be comprehensible in Spanish and English.  We have a fantastic BRS staff at Leopold who assist us, but are very busy.  Any help you could provide would be based on your availability and would include written translation of our materials.  Work can be done from your own home or office.

¿Está usted habla español e Inglés? El PFO necesita un equipo de traductores. Nos gustaría encontrar un grupo de padres que pueden compartir esta responsabilidad. This year's Spirit Wear is available here. Options include t-shirts, sweatshirts, and lounge pants. Orders can be placed until Sunday, November 22. Deliveries will be made to Leopold no later than December 15. Check it out!

Attendance Matters Breakfast

Leopold will host the 2015 Attendance Matters Breakfast on Friday, December 4th from 7:00 am to 8:30 am.  This is a family breakfast in the cafeteria and an opportunity to learn more about why school attendance matters.  After breakfast, join your students for the first part of their class day.  If you would like to help with set up on Thursday evening, December 3, please contact Leopold Social Worker, Sarah Kluesner, at [email protected].

PFO Meeting Tuesday, December 8    
                                         
Mark your calendars! Do you want to learn more about your students REACH classes? At Leopold, all students benefit from REACH Literacy, Science and Computer classes. Join other families and our REACH teachers to learn more about these classes at the December PFO meeting. This meeting will be from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Leopold Library Media Center (LMC). Spanish translation and free childcare will be available.  

Thank you to all staff and families who joined us for our PFO meeting last Tuesday. Our WIN teachers and interventionists shared information about how they work with our students to help them succeed. It was a great opportunity for parents and staff to connect on ways to help our students grown and achieve.

Traducción en español y cuido de niños gratis estarán disponibles.

Room Parents 
 
A great way to meet families in your child's classroom and get to know your classroom teacher is to be a Room Parent.  Room Parents help coordinate the classroom's needs and encourage communication within the classroom's families.  Room parents help everyone connect to the classroom and the school.  We can help get you started.  For more information, talk with your child's classroom teacher.

Giving Tree

Check the PFO Website next week for the 2015-2016 Giving Tree requests.  The Giving Tree is a way to match staff requests with donations from families and the community.  Not all requests are for new items, so you might find a meaningful use for something you no longer need.   We encourage all staff to add their needs to the list.  This is shared with both families and our Adopt a School Partners.
