Update from the Leopold PFO for the Week of November 4, 2015

Hello Leopold Families!
Thank you to the families who came to Open House tonight and to those who supported the PFO buy purchasing baked goods at our bake sale. Many thanks to the families who provided goodies and/or volunteered at the bake sale tables. Additional thanks to the teachers and staff who shared their evening with us and showed us what is happening at Leopold.


Picture Day retakes, Friday, November 6.  Volunteers Needed!

Once again we need a few parents to come help our staff and photographers get our students ready for pictures. This Friday morning, November 6, Lifetouch will return to Leopold to do picture retakes for parents who choose.  Time slots are 8:00-10:00 and 10:00-12:00.

PFO Meeting Tuesday, November 10     
                                         
Please join us for our next PFO meeting on Tuesday, November 10 from 6:00-7:00 in the Leopold Library. Our Learning Session for this meeting will be focused on What I Need (WIN) time and Advanced Learning at Leopold. Find out how our staff helps your child, according to their needs, learn and grow at Leopold.
Spanish translation and free childcare will be available.  

Room Parents    
 
A great way to meet families in your child's classroom and get to know your classroom teacher is to be a Room Parent.  Room Parents help coordinate the classroom's needs and encourage communication within the classroom's families.  Room parents help everyone connect to the classroom and the school.  We can help get you started.  For more information, talk with your child's classroom teacher.

Congratulations to Ms. Slavley's 2nd grade class for winning our latest BoxTops collection contest! We collected 2,857 Boxtops overall. Remember to keep clipping and collecting. Every bit counts.

Plug Into Public Education!
 
Love Jimmy Fallon? Love Lip Sync Battles? Don't miss the first annual Lip Sync for Schools! Let your inner rockstar shine and raise funds for public education at the Foundation for Madison's Public Schools' newest fundraiser. Based on popular skits from "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" the event features lip sync battles between community leaders with the audience determining a winner. The night also features a silent auction, photo booth, food and drink. We hope you'll join us on Friday, November 6 from 7-11pm at the Brink Lounge.
 
Tickets are $40 and support the Foundation's work in providing creative and innovative programs to enrich the education of all Madison's public school students. Get yours today here before they're gone!
