Update from the Leopold PFO for the Week of September 23, 2015

Hello Leopold Families!
I hope your routine is well underway and everyone is enjoying the new school year. We have a lot going on and want to be sure you are kept up-to-date! Thank you to all who attended the Open School House/PFO Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, September 15. Leopold staff and families enjoyed a warm and relaxing fall evening together. Our amazing Leopold teachers and staff served Babcock ice cream and kids played games on the playground.  

As always, we very much want to engage parents, families and staff in our events! Interested but feel as though you have no time to volunteer? Opportunities abound that require small amounts of time. Consider - if each parent/family gave 1 hour during the year to serve, that would amount to more than 300 hours of volunteering! Target RedCard Donations ending after 2015-2016 school year
After the 2015-2016 school year, Target will no longer be donating back to your designated school for every purchase you make on your Target RedCard. Please make this last year count!  If you haven't designated Leopold Elementary as the recipient of your donations, please do so to ensure we can raise money during this final year. This has been an important source of funding for classroom needs, supplies, enrichment programs, and books.

To help close the gap with the expected loss of funds from Target, please use our Amazon Associates program. Every time you use Amazon, please click through the Amazon link on our fundraising page at www.leopoldpfo.org. Amazon donates to our school when this link is used. Once again the Leopold PFO is collecting Box Tops for Education!  These are the little logos that can be clipped and saved for our school. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents. Last year we earned $1800 for Leopold so every little bit counts! There will be three Box Top Collections throughout the year. The class with the most Box Tops per student per collection will win a party!  Our first collection will be October 16. Watch your child's backpack for collection sheets in the next few weeks. Remember to collect Box Tops all year!

Picture Day is next week!

We're looking for volunteers to help out with Picture Day at Leopold Elementary School on
Thursday, October 1st. Volunteers will receive a
$20 discount towards pictures.  (Just write VOLUNTEER: $20 discount on your child's picture order form). The photographers request volunteers check in each class as they arrive, line the students up, straighten clothing and hair, and keep things moving smoothly. Sign up here.
